I think I finally managed to blow a Hartke speaker -- the day before a gig. I promptly ran out and picked up
a Hartke Pro 18" cab for a
really fair price. What an improvement...I'm going to start running it biamp and see what kind effect that has. The lows are nice and thick now :)

Winter NAMM 2006 was nothing short of amazing.
Here are a few photos, wish I would have taken more. I was able to test out enough gear to decide that I'm (hopefully)
going to get a custom Bee Bass (8 String Fanned), along with
an Aguilar DB-750 and
Accugroove cabs. After speaking with
the guys from Accugroove, I'm convinced (so are they) this is
going to be THE killer setup. Time to start saving some $ for the custom Bee :)

Antithesis photo shoot today - went really well. We did 90
shots for promo and for the upcoming CD. Thanks to DS Resch for the artistic eye!

I'm headed out to the Anaheim show for the 2nd year. Hopefully, this time I'll get many more
pictures and get the opportunity to play more high-end basses! And, of course ... the parties :)
Thanks to Byron Nemeth for the passes! See you there!

A couple weeks back, I received an offer to jam with a new band Dark Arena
from a fellow bandmate - I didn't really know what to expect, except it would be heavy and complex. Their material has really grown on me and
I'm looking forward to the challenge it presents. More about this project as it blossoms ;) We will be opening for
Sonata Arctica and
Loudness in Jan and Feb. Cmon out and say "hi".

The Glyph drive is fixed, I now have a backup system in place, and I'm back in solid recording shape!
Huge, painful, ugly lesson learned.

Last night, I received a copy of the Mindscape disc today, completely finished and mastered
by Alex Perilias, who has worked with Metallica, Testament, Overkill, and Anthrax. The difference between mix and mastering is always
amazing, but even more so this time. This is a great disc with great production, can't wait for the release! As soon as I get an ok,
I'll upload some MP3 samples from the disc.

A real setback - after laying all the bass lines and keys for the next Antithesis
release - and in my infinite wisdom - my hard drive (a Glyph drive no less!) failed miserably. This sucks, but I guess on the good side, the
second time has to be better than the first, right?

I've been doing some experimenting dropping down below B. After a little research and reading on
talkbass.com, I figured out JustStrings.com carried a LaBella .140.
JustStrings is a very quick shipper, so within the next couple days, my Conklin BD7 was tuned F#BEADGC! One concern is amplifying such a low
frequency - I'll be treading lightly with it and reading up on some advice from pioneers who are exploring the deep ranges of extended
range bass.

Finished the Mindscape tracks! So far, everything sounds real
tight. I can't wait to hear how the final, mixed & mastered release sounds. We will be doing a gig together Aug 27th,
see their site for more info. Work on the
Antithesis release is now continuing after finishing the drum
tracks, which took a lot of time.

Studio work continues in the quest to get the next Antithesis release
finally completed - and, I've been invited to do tracks on the next release from
Mindscape. They're a great bunch of guys, so this should be fun.

Got a great deal on a Roscoe SKB-3007 (another from eBay!).
I've had my eye on one of these for a long time, so I hope it lives up to my expectations!

Added a bunch of MP3s to the audio page from the bands I've recorded with over the years.
